International Volunteer Tourism Thailand (IVTT) consultancy

For the Sustainable Tourism industry, IVTT will:


  • Offer a fee-based program entitled The Sustainable Enterprises Program, in which members (ie. guesthouses, restaurants, internet cafes, handicraft shops, ecotourism tours, others in the hospitality industry) receive access to various opportunities to promote themselves to the international tourist market, receive translation of marketing materials into English /Japanese/ other, technical assistance (ie. web-support) and other support. This program is only available to businesses who meet the criteria for sustainability (see below);

  • Promotion includes advertisements on our website, in our monthly newsletter, in various international media, and in information fairs and materials for the 6,000+ members on the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme in Japan.

    Note: Businesses that practice sustainable community development have proven to be far more competitive in the marketplace than those who don't. IVTT promises a long-term investment into a healthy future for Thai citizens and volunteer tourists alike.

    Evaluation Criteria for the Sustainable Enterprise Program

    Those businesses that meet the following criteria as set by IVTT are invited to participate in the program.

    1) Contribute to the local economy, ie. buying locally produced foods and building materials, paying a living wage, employing at-risk youth, other;

    2) Contribute to conserving and enhancing the local environment, ie. protecting endangered species, avoiding the purchase of illegally logged timber, using alternative energy sources, lowering energy costs in the workplace;

    3) Contribute to local society, ie. cultural exchange, educational programs, training for young entrepreneurs, job opportunities and training for at-risk or disadvantaged youth.
